What do we long for in a garden?
A space in nature to spend unhurried time in, to play in, to share with
family and friends, a space that leaves us with
a sense of place, or peace and belonging? A garden should not only
satisfy our functional requirements, it should be a reflection of
ourselves, a respite, a haven, a private pleasure.
For more than 20 years, Pamela Gleason has been creating award-winning gardens that are individual to each client
and responsive to each site. Using a professional and artistic hand,
Pamela synthesizes her
extensive experience in art, horticulture and design
to lead you to your own unique garden space.
And, when all is said and done, the garden will become more
than a collection of stones and plants: it will
provide us with that we long for: a sense of place, of beauty and
function, and of
pleasure.

Pamela Gleason Landscape Design is a one-women office that allows a full, interactive and creative design process between herself and the client. Trained as a landscape architect, with an art history background, Pamela creates lush gardens with an artist's attention to space, light, color, texture and detail. Still producing drawings by hand, each design is a unique graphic imprint of the imagined garden.
Born and bred as a small-town New Englander, Pamela has always held the belief at her Yankee core that landscape design should be environmentally sensitive and sustainable, and this has been reinforced in her professional training. Each design, therefore, is site-appropriate, meshing water conserving plant palettes with superior material selections to produce a garden that will thrive in our seemingly endless California micro-climates.
